Specialist Caseworker

Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for two Specialist Caseworkers, to work Remote/Pan London. The service supports children and young people who've been exposed to or are at risk of exploitation or violence to secure safety and positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will be required to work 32 hours (4 days) per week, working between Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. You'll be expected to work outside these hours if required. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2 months. The pay rate is £16.49 per hour, with £2.65 holiday pay, totalling £19.14 per hour.
Please note; this role is a hybrid role which requires you to work remotely and travel across London, meeting young people in the community or where they're based. An induction will be held at the Head Office and a laptop and phone provided.
In this position, you will be required to:
- Deliver effective one-to-one support to young people in collaboration with them so that their voice is at the centre of everything you do and the young people receive the support they need
- Carry out robust risk assessments and strengths based needs assessments, with safeguarding as the priority, to ensure the most appropriate intervention is offered and risks are managed/escalated appropriately
- Accurately maintain essential records, ensuring high-quality case recording, utilising the in-house case recording system
- Complete reports (which may be shared with statutory bodies such as the police, courts and children social care and which can be shared with the family) that accurately reflect work undertaken in a professional manner
- Maintain effective communication, both written and verbal, virtually or face-to-face
- Identify and complete risk assessments for spaces, places and services where young people feel safe enough to engage in meaningful intervention/activities
- Make appropriate onward referrals and signpost children and young people to support services and positive activities, advocating for them to get the services they're entitled to when necessary
- Work with partners, communities and other key stakeholders to deliver the service effectively
- Act in accordance with the organisations safeguarding policies

To apply for this role, you must have:
- Experience of managing complex safeguarding issues with children, young people, families and adults at risk, including being able to demonstrate effective partnership working
- Experience of working with and effectively engaging children and young people in trusting relationships
- Extensive knowledge of the impact of context on children, young people and adults with a clear understanding of the principles of contextual safeguarding
- Experience of high-quality case recording
- Knowledge of best practise around contextual safeguarding and those experiencing harm outside the home
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practise and of how trauma (including from their own lives) can impact on how practitioners manage cases
- Recognition of the importance of resilience in coping with the emotional demands of the role and demonstrable experience of managing your own well being
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to communicate and influence a wide range of internal and external colleagues on matters relating to the service and to produce reports
- IT literate (Excel, Outlook, Word) and experience of using databases
- Relevant qualification in social care, health, youth/community work, criminal justice or equivalent experience (for example; registered and qualified Social Worker)
