Resettlement Programme Manager

Central is currently recruiting for a Resettlement Programme Manager, to work in the Camberwell area. The service provides support to tenants to be successfully resettled in suitable alternative accommodation.

The Resettlement Programme Manager will support in the permanent rehousing of a number of tenants in London.

The successful candidate will be required to work between 25 - 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. This is a fixed term contract until December 2025. The pay rate is £43,500 per annum.

Please note; this role involves visiting tenants in Lambeth, Bromley and Islington. You will also be required to work from the office in Camberwell.

In this position, you will be required to:
- Manage and support a part time Housing Worker, ensuring there are regular check in's with all independent tenants
- Ensure regular contact and communication with the Housing Worker so there is a joined up approach to supporting with move-on; hold 4-weekly one to one meetings
- Conduct assessments to identify tenants' housing needs and develop tailored move-on housing plans. Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions that prepare tenants to move- on
- Research and manage referral pathways and help people to navigate these pathways
- Report in to the Executive Team/Project Board on progress and risk
- Be responsible for sharing knowledge of the law relating to homelessness and awareness of current issues affecting Social Housing and Private housing provision with a wider project team and with tenants as appropriate
- Provide information on available housing options including social housing, sheltered housing and private rented sector liaising with landlords, housing providers and local authorities to support tenants with their needs
- Support tenants to set up rent payments, HB application, liaise with landlords, viewing of properties and support from others, as necessary, to sustain their new tenancy when they move
- Oversee the arrears management process and regularly review rent payments to ensure that any arrears are managed before tenants move on
- Collaborate with external agencies both statutory and non-statutory, community organisations, and support networks to coordinate holistic support for tenants
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, complying with data protection and confidentiality policies
- Ensure that all health and safety checks are carried out as legally required

To apply for this role, you must have:
- Experience of managing resettlements, managing referral pathways, supporting tenants with decants, setting up rent payments, liaising with landlords and local authorities.
- Extensive knowledge of the law relating to homelessness and awareness of current issues affecting Social Housing and Private housing provision as it relates to resettlement of tenants.
- Experience of rehousing long term tenants
- Experience of working with commissioners to identify suitable alternative accommodation
- Ability to negotiate with different stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
- Have an understanding of the challenges of homelessness and the sensitivities for those who are moving on
- Have a patient attitude and a non-judgmental approach when working with individuals facing challenging circumstances and be able to evidence instances of this in previous work
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and familiar with relevant database management systems
- Tenant focused, have good organisational and people skills, be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt to situations and have a flexible approach
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, work well under pressure, have attention to detail and have proactive problem-solving skills. Most of all you must be confident with dealing with sensitive situations, and experienced in conflict management
