Central is currently recruiting for a female only Specialist Support Worker, to work in the Clapham area. The service is a 24 hour supported housing provision for 15-18 women who have experienced homelessness and have interconnecting needs.
The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday on a rota basis covering early (8AM - 4PM) and late (12PM - 8PM) shifts. Temporary cover is required until the beginning of March 2025. The pay rate for this role is £19.37 per hour, with £3.32 holiday pay, totalling £22.69 per hour.
In this position, you will be expected to; - Deliver tailored, high-quality supported housing for women experiencing homelessness and interconnecting needs. These experiences have led to multiple levels of disadvantages. - Provide a strength-based and psychological, gender and culturally informed approach to 'case management' and all interactions including incident management - Broker, advocate, and facilitate improved access to a range of support and accommodation services including drug and alcohol recovery services, mental health services and primary care; focused on harm minimisation to treatment - Deliver and support a therapeutic and diverse program of support and activities - Support a positive and smooth transition onto long term accommodation - Develop and contribute to multi-agency plans and networks - Develop and embed gender informed best practices and share across the organisation - Complete and meet core service outcomes, regulatory and funding requirements, including internal quality assurance standards for supported housing. - Ensure the operational compliance of policies and procedures related to health and safety in supported housing. - Support and deliver co-produced activities and groups to support harm minimisation and recovery. - Ensure appropriate and timely data input and record keeping enabling effective communication and professional accountability
To apply for this role, you must have; - At least two years' experience in providing 121 intensive wrap-around support with women who experience homelessness and interconnecting needs - Understanding of the causes of homelessness and the needs of women experiencing homelessness - Up-to-date knowledge of housing, homelessness and related legislation as well as knowledge of relevant external agencies, resources and accommodation options for people experiencing homelessness and moving to new accommodation - Experience in providing operational day to day management of a supported housing environment ensuring compliance of health and safety - Experience in multi-agency working with statutory and voluntary sector partners - Experience in preventing, detecting, and responding to safeguarding concerns and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures with people who are at risk - Experience of tenancy sustainment and community liaison - Experience in creating opportunities for coproduction with people using services to codesign and improve service/system provision - Able to deliver bespoke person led, strength-based and psychologically informed 'casework' approach with people - Able to ensure compliance of health and safety policies that meet supported housing standards
