Relief Worker

Central is recruiting for Relief Workers, to work in the Stevenage area. The service provides support to young people aged 16-25 who have moved on into their own accommodation to help them live independently in the community.

Candidates will be required to work long days from 9 AM - 9PM or waking nights from 9 PM - 9 AM (please note this will involve an element of sleep in shift from 11 PM - 8 AM) on rota basis from Monday -Sunday. The pay rate is £13.15 per hour, with £1.91 holiday pay, totalling £15.06 per hour.

Interested candidates must be available for a minimum of 2 shifts per week across 7 days.

In this position, you will be required to conduct building and wellbeing checks, repairs maintenance and inter agency working. This role involves lone working.

-Experience of working with vulnerable and complex young people.
-An understanding of the problems facing homeless young people and homeless issue
-The ability to create good professional working relationships with young people
-An understanding of safeguarding and knowledge of the benefit system.
-Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

-Current valid right to work in the UK
-Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
-A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)
-Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
