Course Overview



Central Training's Loss in Service course explores the impact of bereavement within health and social care services. The trainer will focus on the various impacts on clients, services and staff, and discuss ways to process and move through the experience of loss. The session will provide a safe space to better understand the impact of death within complex relationships, the emotional consequences for all and the procedural steps needed.

The course aims to equip delegates with the skills to:
  • Understand the impact of loss and grief in complex-needs services
  • Support clients impacted by bereavement
  • Consider the diversity in beliefs about death and dying
  • Develop compassion whilst recognising professional boundaries
  • Acknowledge the impact of trauma bonding and shared experience
  • Support staff to process loss whilst encouraging gentle forward movement
  • Be aware of practical procedures both internally and locally
