Course Overview
Central Training's Psychosis and Bipolar training course aims to assist delegates in understanding what the terms describe, the different types of bipolar and the characteristic 'signs and symptoms' of psychosis-voices, visions and unusual beliefs. The course will also review the NICE recommended treatment pathways, including an overview of medications prescribed for psychosis and bipolar, highlighting both intended and unintended (side) effects and psychological therapies. Delegates will be introduced to growing evidence supporting the use of psychological and social approaches to psychosis that can promote engagement, self-care and recovery.

This course is designed to enable delegates to: Define bipolar and psychosis Identify causes, types and impact Be aware of common treatment pathways and medications Describe recovery-oriented emotional and practical support options Understand how to support service users with a range of self-management options
Methods of Delivery
This course utilises PowerPoint presentation and videos as aids to trainer-led discussion. Delegates are encouraged to share their knowledge and experience through discussion, group work, practical exercises and case study work.
