                Emergency First Aid at Work Awareness

 Course Overview 
  This course aims to provide an introduction to first aid in the workplace, the roles of a first-aider and basic first aid skills. It covers the roles and responsibilities of a First Aider, assessing the situation and giving appropriate care and first aid for conscious or unconscious casualties. This course can be used as part of a blended learning programme, an introduction for new staff, or as a refresher. 
  Please note: This virtual course does not qualify delegates as first aiders as the training and exam for this must be taken face-to-face. 
 
 Learning Outcomes
  By the end of this course delegates will have covered the theory behind: Assessing situation and casualty Giving appropriate care and first aid for conscious or unconscious casualties Treating bleeding, burns, shock and other medical conditions Treating minor injuries
 
 Methods of Delivery
  The trainer will use a variety of presentations, visual aids, group work, activities and demonstrations.  This is an interactive course, and the delegates' knowledge and experience are welcome.

         -  The role of the first aider 
 -  First aid kits: contents and use 
 -  First Aid for conscious and unconscious casualties 
 -  Recovery position and theory of CPR
 -  Choking, bleeding, shock, minor injuries, and other medical conditions
 -  Legislation and guidelines for recording incidents and accidents

          Anyone designated an appointed person or in a role requiring knowledge of first aid at work.
         
         
             Training Considerations
                 
          There are no pre-training requirements for this course.  
         
         
             Certification
                 
          Upon completion of this course, delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
