Course Overview This is an area that is often leads to resentment, conflict and occasionally in employment disputes. For managers, the task of working in an equalities framework can be very daunting and litigious publicity can add to them perceiving equalities as the 'enemy' rather than a framework to aid in the development of an anti-oppressive culture.
This one-day course aims to provide managers with a clear understanding of their responsibilities regarding equality and diversity and to prepare them better for challenges as well as the active promotion of diversity so that services are enriched.
Learning Outcomes By the end of this course delegates will have covered: The basic principles of and difference between equality and diversity Equality Act, 2010 and relevant legislation Direct and indirection discrimination Harassment, third party harassment and bullying Victimisation, association and perception Managing Complaints, the role of the manager and assessments
Methods of Delivery The trainer will use a mixture of presentations, PowerPoint, group discussion, role-play, case study, and small group activities.
