Honour Based Abuse, Forced Marriage & Female Genital Mutilation
Duration 1 day
Course Overview
Honour based violence is a violent crime or incident which may have been committed to protect or defend the honour of the family or community while Forced Marriage is a marriage in which one or both of the parties is married without his or her consent or against his or her will. FGM is a form of child abuse and violence against women and girls, and therefore should be dealt with as part of existing child and adult protection structures, policies and procedures.
Different organisations and people working with individuals should be aware of the signs of abuse so that they can identify cases of victims who may be in need of help or protection.
