Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
Duration ½ day Course Time: 9.30am - 12.30pm OR 1.30pm - 4.30pm
Course Overview
CSE is a high-profile issue at present and all staff should be aware of the potential for children to be sexually exploited as well as the underlying reasons for behaviour changes in children. This course aims to provide practitioners with the opportunity to explore CSE, gain a better understanding around it, and advance their skills in identifying and protecting children who are at risk or already subjected to CSE.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course delegates will have covered: The definition of CSE and common attitudes and beliefs The risk factors The grooming process and how to identify signs of it The impact of CSE on children and families Risk assessment, the referral process, and early interventions Ways to raise awareness of CSE and build "Healthy Relationships"
Methods of Delivery
The majority of this course is interactive with very little PowerPoint presentation. It involves a quiz, group work, group discussion, videos, real case studies, and individual work (risk assessment).
