 Course Overview
  Central Training's Coaching & Mentoring for Managers course is designed to equip delegates with the skills and techniques to help them support the development and achievement of individuals and teams within the health, education, and social care sectors.
The trainer will explore a range of skills and qualities needed by a coach/mentor, including one-to-one teaching, listening skills, recording, and learning techniques. The delegates will have the opportunity to reflect on the part that coaching and mentoring can play in the workplace and practise techniques and approaches that can be applied to their work to enhance individual skills and work performance.

  This course is designed to cover: The main features of coaching and mentoring and when they should be used  Questioning techniques aimed at improving performance Skills for negotiating goals and targets Tips on how to give constructive feedback on performance The Gibbs Model: reflective practice and how to encourage learning in teams Time for reflection and practice for each delegate's future development needs
 
 Methods of Delivery
  Attendees are provided with course handouts for use on the day and for future reference. The trainer uses a variety of visual presentation, flipchart work, plenary discussion and subgroup work to ensure that all course objectives are met, while providing a safe, open forum for delegates to exchange views and practices.
