Course Overview



Central Training's Level 2 Award in Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions in the workplace and how best to offer support to colleagues. During this course, candidates will develop a greater understanding on the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and the role that everyone plays in recognising and handling mental health issues at work. The trainer will discuss common mental health conditions including; work-related stress, anxiety, eating disorders, depression, PTSD, OCD, phobias, bipolar, psychosis and suicide.

Learning Outcomes



By the end of the training, candidates will have covered:
  • The importance of mental health
  • Mental health in the workplace: roles and responsibilities
  • Legislation associated with mental health in the workplace
  • Promoting positive mental health in the workplace
  • Common mental health conditions
  • Key features of a mental health first aid action plan and listening techniques

    The training is delivered in a manner designed to both engage and inform delegates using a range of different learning methods including trainer presentation, power point presentation, large group discussion and small group work, quizzes and case studies along with references, further reading and resources information.
