Course Overview


Central Training's Psychodynamic Understanding training is designed to deepen understanding around the Psychoanalytic approaches originally developed by Freud and further explored by his followers, and to gain a greater awareness of human behaviour and the interaction between our conscious and unconscious drives.

Learning Outcomes


The course aims to equip delegates with the skills to:
  • Deepen their understanding around the origins of human behaviours
  • Understand the impact of Freud and his followers on our current practice
  • Explore the impact of Klein, Winnicott and Jung
  • Explore the impact of Eric Berne and Transactional Analysis
  • Understand the psychoanalytic approach to the personality, including the ID and Ego
  • Explore the importance of Projective Identification and Transference whilst working with clients
  • Explore how to implement this theory into our practice and approach with clients

    This training is interactive and employs, group work, presentations and directed learning activities. Delegates are provided with comprehensive learner notes to facilitate learning.
