Anxiety and Depression: Signs, Causes, and Support (Half Day)
Course Overview
This course examines the medical and psycho-social models of mental health and ill health, and thus places depression in its broader context. Different types of depression are examined as well as the different degrees that they can manifest themselves (mild, moderate and severe). The training also focuses on the causes, signs, and symptoms of clinical depression and covers treatment options and support and self-help appropriate for the condition (including WRAPs and crisis plans). Throughout the course, the medical perspective is balanced with the lived reality of people who live with this condition.
